Binding off/casting off

I have been avoiding finishing my purple socks because I found the cast-off shown by Silver in her Two toe-up socks on one circular needle much too intimidating. I like sewing and I like knitting, but I don't like doing both at the same time. I try to keep any sewing done on knitting to the absolute minimum (like darning in the end of my yarn after casting off).

Enter Jeny's Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off on knitty. It's easy to learn, quick, and gives a superior stretchy edge to your socks. I have put together a quick slide show showing more details.

  2. Hi Tina

I'm wildly off topic here - I saw your (April) comment on the Bloggertricks site as I am in the process of starting a blog using the same template as you use in your other blog.

I guess you solved the posting problem - hope so anyway.

I was prompted to comment here because I was struck by the high quality of writing (stop blushing!). You are certainly a multi-talented lady.

Then I read your profile, which explained why you write so clearly and precisely. I don't know how much other writing you do for pleasure - but if you haven't yet, well I think you should. The world is in great need of people who can actually write, instead of the low quality stuff to which we have all become acclimatised.

Why not a book related to sewing?!

    All the best,
    Richard.
